Case study

Lavasecco Point: the laundry that never closes

The self-service dry cleaner open 365 days a year. The kiosk, the smart lockers, the cloud software and the fit-out are all ours: this is the project that shows best what we can do.

The project

Dropping off and collecting garments, at any hour

A traditional laundry is open while its customers are at work: anyone who has to drop off or collect garments has to squeeze the trip into a lunch break or a Saturday morning. Lavasecco Point takes opening hours out of the equation.

The store is always open for drop-off and collection: you walk in, choose the service on the kiosk and leave the garments in the lockers, which open by themselves. The garments are cleaned at specialist plants and brought back to the store; when they are ready, a text message tells the customer.

Making it work meant solving three things at once: where to leave the garments when nobody is there, how to pay, and how to get them back safely without anyone else being able to take them. The answer is the installation we designed and manufactured.

How it works

Four steps for the end customer

Nobody behind the counter: the kiosk guides the journey, from the door to collection.

1

Choose

The customer walks into the Point and follows the kiosk: they pick the service and see the price and the delivery date straight away.

2

Pay

They pay on the kiosk with the most common cards and get a receipt with the collection code.

3

Drop off

The system opens one or more lockers: shirts and trousers in the small compartments, coats and jackets in the large ones.

4

Collect

When the garments are ready a text message arrives. At the kiosk they choose “Collect garments”, type the code and the locker opens.

What we built

One supplier, from the kiosk to the cloud software

We designed every piece of the installation to work with the others: that is why the customer gets a simple journey and the operator a single panel.

The kiosk

A catalogue of garments with prices and turnaround times, card payment, a receipt carrying the collection code and a support button that asks for a call back.

The lockers

Compartments in two sizes with a software-controlled lock: they open by themselves at drop-off and at collection, and only with the right code.

The cloud software

It assigns compartments, works out delivery dates, takes payment, sends the text messages and keeps the history of every garment, across all the stores.

The store

Floor plan, 3D renderings and fit-out: from an empty unit to a store ready to open, with the same look in every Point.

From drawing to store

From the floor plan to an open store

First the plan is drawn, then the rendering is reviewed, then it is installed.
